Managing Partner, Tata Opportunities Fund
Bobby Pauly is a Partner and a founding member of the TOF Team and has 17 years of experience in private equity, strategy consulting and operations.
Bobby Pauly joined Tata Capital Private Equity in 2007 as its first employee and has been instrumental in conceptualising and nurturing the private equity business of Tata Capital. Mr. Pauly developed the initial concept and strategy of TOF I, to which he was assigned on an exclusive basis in early 2010, and became a Partner in 2013.
Since the launch of TOF I, Mr. Pauly advised in relation to TOF I's investments in Varroc, Tata Projects, TVS Logistics and Roots Corporation (Ginger Hotels) and continues to drive value-creation at these companies. He is on the board of TVS Logistics and Ginger Hotels, and is an observer on the board of Tata Projects.
Prior to joining Tata Capital, Mr. Pauly directed the Private Equity and India Entry verticals of Tata Strategic Management Group ("TSMG"), a strategy consulting company within the Tata group, where he spent seven years providing strategic advice to Indian and international clients. Mr. Pauly led a team of 10 consultants and established the Private Equity franchise at TSMG where he advised buy-side clients on over USD 450 million of private equity and merger and acquisition transactions.
Whilst at TSMG, Mr. Pauly also led the advisory team that assisted the Investment Commission of India (led by Mr. Ratan Tata and established under the Prime Minister's Office) on strategies to expand foreign and private investment in India. Mr. Pauly has wide and deep networks within Tata, having advised numerous Tata companies and the Tata group's Corporate Centre on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organisation and operations improvement. Prior to Tata, he began his career at the TVS Group.
Mr. Pauly graduated from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (MBA) and the College of Engineering, Guindy - Anna University (BE). In 2000, the Confederation of Indian Industry honoured Mr. Pauly as a "Young Business Leader of Tomorrow".
Rishaad Bilimoria
Partner, Tata Opportunities Fund
Rishaad Bilimoria is a Partner of the TOF team with eighteen years of experience spanning Private Equity and Investment Banking in India, the UK and the US.
Rishaad Bilimoria joined the TOF team since its inception 2011. Mr. Bilimoria has 18 years of work experience, including 13 years in Private Equity, in India, US and UK. Mr. Bilimoria has been involved in TOF’s investments in Varroc Engineering and TVS Supply Chain Solution. Mr. Bilimoria is highly experienced and has handle several critical aspects of the Fund, including origination and diligence, portfolio value creation, fundraising, fund governance, team building and investor relations.
Prior to joining the TOF team, Mr. Bilimoria spent over 5 years in Indian private equity with the JM Financial Private Equity Fund in Mumbai as a founding member of the team, where he served as a Vice President and executed transactions in retail, offshore logistics, business outsourcing and consumer sectors.
Prior to that, Mr. Bilimoria was with NBGI Ventures in London and JP Morgan’s investment banking division in London and New York.
Mr Bilimoria graduated from the MBA program of London Business Schools and holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
Bhavya Gulati
Director, Tata Opportunities Fund
Bhavya Gulati is a Director within the TOF Team, with five years of private equity experience in India.
In respect of TOF I, Mr. Gulati serves as a board member of Fincare. Prior to joining the TOF Team at Tata Capital in 2012, Mr. Gulati was a Director (M&A) at The Indian Hotel Company, a Tata group company; and was also involved in strategic initiatives of other Tata group companies, most notably with Tata Global Beverages’ JV with Starbucks and Infiniti Retail’s JV with Woolworths. Mr. Gulati also has prior experience with Larsen and Toubro (M&A), KPMG (Corporate Finance), Lazard, Ambit, ICICI and Arthur Andersen. Mr. Gulati has extensive experience in deal execution.
Mr. Gulati is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the London School of Economics (MSc International Accounting and Finance), and Shri Ram College of Commerce, B. Com (Honors).
Ritesh Mandot
Principal, Tata Opportunities Fund
Ritesh Mandot is a Principal within the TOF Team, with seven years of private equity experience in India.
In respect of TOF I, Mr. Mandot serves as board observer of Shriram Properties and provides portfolio management support in respect of Tata Sky and Uber. Prior to joining the TOF Team at Tata Capital in 2013, Mr. Mandot had 7 years of private equity experience in India at Gennext Ventures and Milestone Religare Private Equity. Mr. Mandot has also worked in investment banking with MAPE Advisory.
Mr. Mandot is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (MBA) and Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BE Honors, Electrical and Electronics Engineering).
Musaed Noorani
Vice President, Tata Opportunities Fund
Musaed Noorani is a Vice President within the TOF Team, with five years of private equity experience in India.
In respect of TOF I, Mr. Noorani was involved in the investment in Shriram Properties and provides portfolio management support to Shriram Properties and Ginger Hotels. Prior to joining the TOF Team at Tata Capital in 2012, Mr. Noorani was a consultant at Monitor Group and worked in various banking roles with Barclays Securities, Credit Suisse Securities and ABN Amro Bank.
Mr. Noorani is a graduate of the Indian School of Business Hyderabad (MBA) and University of Mumbai (B. Com).
Anirudh Mandhana
Senior Associate, Tata Opportunities Fund
Anirudh joined Tata Opportunities Fund in September 2016 having previously worked at J. P. Morgan's investment banking division in Mumbai where he was part of the India Coverage team. While at J.P. Morgan he worked across sectors including real estate, technology and healthcare. He has also worked at System2 Capital, a long short equity hedge fund in London and MSCI, an equity index research provider.
Anirudh graduated from London Business School and also holds an MSc (Economics) and BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani), India.
Moin Danawala
Senior Associate, Tata Opportunities Fund
Moin joined Tata Opportunities Fund in September 2014 having previously worked at J. P. Morgan's investment banking division where he was part of the Power and Utility - M&A and Capital markets advisory team in New York and Mumbai. While at J.P. Morgan he worked across segments of power, utility, and renewable energy industry. Moin graduated with a distinction from Jaihind College, Mumbai University, where he earned his Bachelors in Management Studies with a major in Finance.
